Fire alarm systems across Surrey
Omni3 works across Surrey as well as West Sussex. This page is for businesses, landlords, managing agents and facilities managers in Surrey who need a fire alarm system designed, installed, commissioned or maintained. Guildford has its own page.
Fire alarm services in Surrey
Surrey has a mix of commuter-town offices, retail, business parks, schools, care and community buildings, and rural properties, including within the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Landlords and agents often manage buildings in several towns, which makes consistent records and a single point of contact useful.

Local authorities and requirements
Surrey Fire and Rescue Service is the fire and rescue authority for Surrey, and the borough and district councils are the local authorities. The fire and rescue service is normally the enforcing authority for non-domestic premises under the Fire Safety Order, and councils set their own HMO licensing conditions.
See our Surrey services overview for our other services locally, or the main fire alarm systems page for the full service.

Fire alarms in Surrey: common questions
Do you cover all of Surrey?
We work across the towns listed on this page. If your site is in a town that is not listed, call us and we will confirm whether we can help.
I manage buildings in West Sussex and Surrey. Can you look after both?
Often, yes. Tell us the addresses and what is installed and we will say what we can take on.
Are HMO fire alarm requirements the same across Surrey?
No. Licensing conditions are set by each council and vary, and the right system depends on the property. Check with the council that licenses your property, and tell us what the licence requires.
Do the same standards apply in every building?
No. BS 5839-1 (current edition BS 5839-1:2025) is the code of practice for non-domestic premises and BS 5839-6 is for domestic premises. Which is relevant, and what category of system is needed, depends on the building, its use, the fire strategy and the risk assessment.
