Data Cabling & Network Installation in West Sussex & the South East
Enterprise-grade structured cabling, DrayTek routers, Wi-Fi 6 access points and managed PoE switches. We design, install and maintain networks that are fast, secure and built to scale. NICEIC approved.
Who is data cabling & network installation for?
Offices & professional services
Reliable connectivity is non-negotiable. We install structured cabling, business-grade routers with VPN and firewall, Wi-Fi 6 access points and managed switches — giving your team fast, secure access to everything they need.
Warehouses & industrial
Large open spaces and metal structures kill Wi-Fi signals. We design networks with the right access point placement, PoE switches for IP cameras and rugged cabling that handles harsh environments.
Retail & hospitality
Guest Wi-Fi, EPOS systems, CCTV and digital signage all need reliable connectivity. We build networks that separate guest and business traffic, prioritise critical systems and scale as your business grows.
What is included in a network installation?
- Cat6 and Cat6a structured cabling with patch panels and faceplates
- Fibre optic installation for high-speed backbone and inter-building links
- DrayTek business routers with VPN, firewall, load balancing and web content filtering
- Wi-Fi 6 access points with mesh wireless, WPA3 security and seamless roaming
- Managed PoE switches for IP cameras, phones, access points and IoT devices
- VLAN segmentation to separate business, guest and IoT traffic
- 4G/5G failover for automatic internet backup during outages
- VigorACS cloud network management and SD-WAN for multi-site businesses
- Quality of Service (QoS) configuration for VoIP and video prioritisation
- Full testing, certification and as-built documentation
Your network powers everything else
CCTV, access control, VoIP phones, smart energy monitoring — they all depend on a reliable network. We design infrastructure that supports your current systems and future growth.
Our network installation process
Network survey & consultation
We assess your building, understand your connectivity requirements, count devices, check existing infrastructure and identify any problem areas (dead spots, bottlenecks, single points of failure).
Network design & quote
We design your network topology — cabling routes, switch locations, access point placement and router configuration. You receive a detailed quote with a floor plan and equipment schedule.
Cabling installation
Our engineers install Cat6/Cat6a cabling, patch panels, faceplates and containment. All cables are labelled, tested and certified. We work around your business hours to minimise disruption.
Equipment installation & configuration
We rack-mount switches, install routers, configure VLANs, set up Wi-Fi access points and program firewall rules. Every device is configured for your specific requirements.
Testing & handover
We test every cable run, verify Wi-Fi coverage, confirm internet failover and document the entire network. You receive as-built drawings, test certificates and login credentials.
What affects network installation cost?
Number of data points
Each desk, camera, access point and device needs a cable run back to the patch panel. More points mean more cable, containment and termination labour.
Cable type
Cat6 handles up to 1Gbps and suits most offices. Cat6a supports 10Gbps for future-proofing and high-bandwidth applications. Fibre optic is needed for long runs and inter-building links.
Building complexity
Open-plan offices are straightforward. Multi-floor buildings, listed properties and buildings with concrete walls or ceilings require more containment, drilling and labour.
Active equipment
DrayTek routers, managed PoE switches and Wi-Fi 6 access points vary in specification and cost. We recommend equipment matched to your actual needs — not oversized for the sake of it.
Wi-Fi coverage area
More access points are needed for larger spaces, multi-floor coverage or high-density environments. We conduct site surveys to determine the minimum number needed for reliable coverage.
Network security requirements
VLAN segmentation, firewall rules, VPN configuration and web content filtering add configuration time. Essential for businesses handling sensitive data or meeting compliance requirements.
Small office (10–20 points): typically £2,000 – £5,000 | Multi-floor commercial: £5,000 – £25,000+
Exact pricing depends on point count, cable type and equipment specification. We provide a detailed quote after your free network survey.
Common network installation mistakes
Using consumer-grade equipment
Home routers and unmanaged switches cannot handle business workloads. They lack VPN, firewall, VLAN support and failover. When they fail, your entire business stops. We specify enterprise-grade DrayTek equipment designed for reliability.
Running cables without a plan
Ad-hoc cabling creates a tangled mess that is impossible to troubleshoot or expand. We design structured cabling with labelled runs, patch panels and proper containment — making future changes simple.
Ignoring Wi-Fi site survey
Placing access points based on guesswork leads to dead spots and interference. We conduct proper site surveys to determine optimal placement, channel allocation and power levels for reliable coverage everywhere.
No network segmentation
Running guest Wi-Fi, CCTV, VoIP and business data on the same flat network is a security risk and a performance bottleneck. We use VLANs to separate traffic types and prioritise critical systems.
Forgetting about failover
A single internet connection is a single point of failure. When it goes down, so does your business. We configure 4G/5G failover so your team stays connected even during ISP outages.
