Omni3 Is Now MCS Certified for Solar PV and Battery Storage

Omni3 Limited has achieved MCS certification for Solar PV installation and Electrical Energy (Battery) Storage Systems, marking an important milestone in the continued growth of our renewable-energy services across West Sussex and the South East.

What MCS certification covers

MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) is the recognised UK certification scheme and standards framework for small-scale renewable-energy installations. Certification requires assessment of a business's processes, quality systems, and practical installation work against MCS Installation Standards.

Our certification covers two defined scopes:

• MIS 3002: Solar PV Installers — covering the survey, design, system sizing, installation, electrical works, testing, commissioning, DNO processes and handover documentation for Solar PV systems.
• MIS 3012: Electrical Energy (Battery) Storage System — covering the installation and commissioning of electrical energy storage systems in residential and commercial settings.

Certification commenced on 25 August 2026 and is valid to 25 August 2027, subject to continuing compliance with MCS scheme requirements. Surveillance is carried out by NICEIC during the certification period.

The assessment process

MCS certification is issued through an approved assessment body following evaluation of both business processes and practical installation work. The assessment covers pre-sale information and system performance estimate standards, as well as the relevant installation standards for each certified scope.

Our Peacehaven solar and battery installation — an 8-panel Aiko system with SolaX hybrid inverter and 10.2 kWh battery storage — formed part of our successful MCS site assessment process. This project demonstrates the quality of system design, installation and commissioning we apply to every job.

What this means for customers

MCS certification is a recognised mark of technical competence for renewable energy installation. For homeowners and businesses considering solar PV or battery storage, it provides confidence that the installation will be designed, installed and documented to a defined, independently assessed standard.

For installations within the relevant capacity limits, MCS certification is the standard route used to demonstrate suitable installation certification for Smart Export Guarantee applications. Equivalent certification may also be accepted under the SEG rules. Customers must also meet the metering and individual requirements of their chosen SEG supplier. Omni3 provides the relevant installation documentation for qualifying MCS installations — the customer selects and applies to their preferred SEG supplier directly.

Omni3 combines MCS certification for Solar PV and Battery Storage with RECC membership, providing customers with both technical certification and consumer-code protections applicable to our renewable-energy work. Our installations are also backed by NICEIC Approved Contractor status for all electrical works, and ISO-aligned quality and environmental management systems.
