MCS Certification & Registration Charges
Omni3 is MCS certified for Solar PV under MIS 3002 and for Electrical Energy (Battery) Storage Systems under MIS 3012. The charges below cover the administration of certification and registration with the MCS scheme.
Single technology
Solar PV or Battery Storage

Applies where Omni3 carries out and certifies one MCS technology — either Solar PV under MIS 3002 or Electrical Energy (Battery) Storage Systems under MIS 3012.
Combined Solar PV and Battery Storage
Both technologies on the same installation
Plus VAT
£225
Applies where both Solar PV and Battery Storage are installed and certified together as a combined project under MIS 3002 and MIS 3012.
About this charge
MCS certification and registration administration charge: £125 plus VAT for a single technology or £225 plus VAT for combined Solar PV and Battery Storage.
For installations carried out by Omni3, this charge will be shown in your written quotation — either included within the installation price or listed as a separate line item.
Installations not carried out by Omni3
The MCS certification and registration charge does not include inspection, testing, remedial work, missing documentation or other work required to establish compliance. These services are charged separately.
Certification can only be provided where Omni3 is able to accept the necessary responsibility under MCS requirements and the installation satisfies the applicable standards. Payment of the charge does not guarantee certification.
Why MCS certification matters
Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) eligibility
An MCS certificate is required for the installation to qualify for SEG payments — the scheme that pays you for electricity exported to the grid.
Insurance and warranty validity
Many home insurance policies and manufacturer warranties require MCS certification to remain valid for solar and battery installations.
Property sale and remortgage
Solicitors and mortgage lenders will ask for the MCS certificate when a property with a solar or battery installation is sold or remortgaged.
Compliance with installer standards
MCS certification confirms that the installation has been designed, installed, tested and registered in accordance with the applicable MCS standards and your system details have been recorded on the national MCS database.
